Lip balms can really elevate your whole appearance even if you’re not wearing any other product. Personally, I think lip balms are the best product as they are so versatile and also nourish your lips to make them softer!
There are so many lip balms on the market right now and in this post I’ll be sharing the best lip balms on the market in my opinion and what I use as my daily go-to lip balms.
Laneige sleeping lip mask
Arguably, one of the most viral lip balms there is. While technically this isn’t a lip balm, it can definitely be utilised as one! This mask makes my lips so soft when using it overnight but I also like to apply it in the day like a lip balm to add an extra shine to my lips.
When applied, this one looks glossy without being sticky which is a huge benefit. I have both the tub version and the tube version and I do the find the tube version a lot more convenient for on the go and more hygienic!
On the other hand, the tub does seem to last longer (there is more product) and you can apply it with the spatula provided though I just apply it like a regular lip balm with my finger!
Gisou honey infused lip oil
This one is my newest in the collection and it’s quickly become my favourite! This one is infused with honey and it smells gorgeous! I have the shade glazed plum and it has the most beautiful glittery sheen to it!
I feel that this lip balm is closer to a gloss but it elevates my whole appearance and makes my lips soft as a lip balm should. This one is also not sticky and applies smoothly. The applicator also feels really nice too. Again, it leans more towards a lip gloss than a lip balm but it feels really nice.
Out of all of them, I’d say this one has my favourite scent. All of these lip balms recommended smell gorgeous but this one has a scent that is so unique and sweet that it has to take first place.
Ole henriksen peptide lip treatment
I have been a fan of this brand for ages! I used to love the cooling mask they had and now I love these lip balms!
I have the crème brûlée shade and it smells gorgeous and looks gorgeous too. This lip balm is definitely on the heavier side and it’s slightly stickier than the others on application. Despite being stickier, I feel that the longevity on this one is unbeatable! I like to wear this one when going out for a meal as it adds a hue to the lips and I know it’s going to last.
They do have a pomegranate shade and this has a shimmer in it. I really like the idea of lip balms having shimmer so you can wear them out and it looks put together while also caring for your lips!
Boots glossy lip balm in cherry
I picked this one up when I heard that they were a dupe for the summer Fridays lip balms but once I saw the samples of the summer Fridays, I disagree with this.
This one has a similar texture to a Carmex lip balm but I feel that it’s more hydrating than a carmex. I like to have this one in my bag. I do find I need to reapply this fairly often but due to such a low price, you can’t complain! One other thing I have noticed is that it can be quite hard to squeeze out of the tube but that’s not a massive issue for me.
It smells great, it hydrates my lips and it’s a fair price – you can’t ask for more from a lip balm!
Primark lip oil
This one was the most affordable of the lip balms mentioned here – I think it was only £1!
This lip balm (technically oil) is so hydrating and makes my lips feel so soft, as all these lip balms do! Again, it applies like a lip gloss and it’s a nice applicator.
Due to it being the cheapest, it does fall short of the others in a few ways such as a lack of scent, can feel a bit too oily and longevity isn’t the best but due to the affordability, it’s a good option.
I usually only apply this before bed but it could be an affordable staple handbag lip balm for some and it would work great!
Rhode lip peptide
These lip balms are so so hydrating – my nan even borrowed some and loved it so she now owns one too!
I had the shade Ribbon which is a pretty pale pink and has a slight tint to it which looks really cute.
These lip balms started to really go viral when the phone cases designed to hold them came out and I do have this phone case but it is so bulky and I had to take it off so now I just keep it in my bag and I still reach for it frequently!
Despite also being a peptide treatment, the rhode lip balms have a much thinner consistency to the Ole Henriksen ones but they still feel like they are doing your lips justice!
If you want a lightweight peptide treatment then this is your go-to lip balm!
I hope you got some inspiration from this post you are considering trying one of the lip balms that I recommended in this post! I tried to include recommendations for a variety of budgets and I hope you find a new favourite!
